What indoor plants are good to use in my office?

Published on

There are plenty of great indoor plants that thrive in an office environment! Here are some options based on low maintenance, air-purifying qualities, and adaptability to indoor lighting:

Low-Light Tolerant Plants

  1. Snake Plant (Sansevieria) Almost impossible to kill, thrives in bright light but will tolerates low light, and purifies air.
  2. ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) Handles low light, infrequent watering, and neglect.
  3. Pothos (Epipremnum aureum) Grows well in low-bright light and fairly forgiving with its watering needs.
  4. Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) Thrives in medium-low light, helps purify the air and a great indicator plant when it is in need of a good water (aka dramatic plant flop).

Medium-to-Bright Light Plants

  1. Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) Fast-growing, great air-purifier, and easy to care for.
  2. Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica) Prefers bright, indirect light and adds a modern touch to any space.
  3. Aloe Vera Requires occasional watering and bright light; also useful for burns!
  4. Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema) Can tolerate various light conditions and requires little care.

Small Desk-Friendly Options

  1. Succulents (Echeveria, Haworthia, etc.) Needs bright light and minimal watering.
  2. Lucky Bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana) Grows well in either water or soil, requires indirect light.
  3. Air Plants (Tillandsia) Don’t need soil and only need misting a few times a week.
